Come to explore Rudyard Lake, the beauty spot near Leek where the Kipling’s parents courted. We have the use of the Sea Scouts’ base, with indoor space, cooking facilities and showers, plus a limited number of variously-sized bunk rooms. There is an attractive space for camping under the trees next to the lake, and a splendid area for relaxing while watching people messing around in boats, or else joining in, and even room to escape from any rain while watching others get wet. You are welcome to bring your own boat, with excellent launching facilities and jetties. It is just possible that – if there’s sufficient interest – we might be able to extend the stay for a day or two as a camping-only option.
Costs will be very reasonable but partly depend on how many of us there are, and the maths will come later.
Please register provisional interest with no commitment to Nick Ardagh-Walter on nickandamanda1558@gmail.com
