Sail Swallow and Amazon

The classic dinghies from the original Swallows and Amazons 1974 film.

I would like to Volunteer!

Yes, we are looking to create a group of volunteers who can be called on to help when Swallow and Amazon are booked by TARS and by members of the public.

“Launching” helpers are the main need, meeting and greeting and fitting with Buoyancy aids and setting the sails and giving the safety spiel. Hunter’s will train you how they want things done. The boats will be in the water.

Skippering hirers who do not want to self-skipper. If you hold a current RYA instructor certificate that would be very helpful  but experience of small boats and familiarity with the Broads is as important. Local skippers will be needed during the week.

Being available to cover weekend bookings will be useful as the yard is busy
on Saturdays with yacht hirers coming and going, and Hunter’s Yard is closed on Sundays so no staff are available.

We are working with Hunter’s Yard to find the best way to make it work and as we know more we will publish the information here on the web-site.

Contact Martin manager@huntersyard.com 01692 678263 with your qualifications and experience and proposed availability.
