Coots In the North- rare book?
I was looking for Coots In The North to give to a shipmate on a recent voyage, and can't locate my own paperback copy (I also have a hardcover), and seem to find that the books in either hard or soft covers is being treated as a rare book. Is this true, or just a bogus marketplace situation?
It certainly seems that CITN is only being offered at very high prices, the cheapest I saw on any used book website was about US $50-60. Not really a bargain for a hardback, let alone a paperback, perhaps the publishers should consider another edition to capture some of the demand.
Better snap up this £15 bargain on ebay then! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Arthur-Ransome-Coots-North-Other-Stories-1988-/140700959447?pt=Children_s_Young_Adult_s_Fiction (not me)
I don't have my own copy, and have been on the lookout for a while now. It does seem that ebay sellers know there are very few copies out there, so the price does go up accordingly. Certainly £15 seems cheap compared to what I've seen in the past.
