Posting Problems

Posted by Owen Roberts at 20:18 on Mon, May 16, 2011

Is any other TAR experiencing problems posting text on the forum using the IE9 browser?

It use to be fine when I used IE8 but now I am unable to enter any text using IE9. I an usng Firefox to make this posting.

This may be a setting in my browser and I would be interested to learn the experiences of others. If you have problems as well, it is worth letting our webmaster know - this link does seem to work.

Many thanks

I have partially resolved the posting problem with IE9. Towards the end of the address bar at the top left hand of the screen - there is a symbol like a torn piece of paper. This is the compatibility view symbol. (You can check this by hovering your mouse over it and the explanation panel will appear). Clicking on this will take you back to an earlier version of IE.

This is compatible with the current version of the TARS website and enables the cursor to be located so that posting can commence. I have used this option to post this message.

It does mean that the TARS website needs updating so that it is compatible with IE9 which is still (just about) the most popular browser format.
