2010 AGM - Oban
I'm going to use this forum to send along my regrets. I won't be attending, since I'll be on the tall ship BOUNTY in northeastern North America at the time. It's possible I'll get to the NBT AGM, if we get to Lake Ontario in time for me to jump ship there (although that's looking unlikely, too). http://www.tallshipbounty.org/schedule/

I wanted to go (I almost did, too-grrr), and I even have those days as a four day weekend from school. I'm trying to go next year, though. Where is next year's???
I have mail from Peter Hyland saying that it's at Glasbury House near Hay-On-Wye.

Doug and Deidre, I am not sure about next years but I believe it is in the Lakes in 2012,
I need to check my notes; I thought it was down south in 2012.
Hay-on-Wye is supposed to be the capital of secondhand bookshops. Is it still as good as it was? I may need to have my wallet confiscated for my own safety....
Just to confirm:-
The 2011 IAGM will be held at Glasbury House, near Hay-on-Wye, from 27 to 30 May. It will be hosted by TARS Midland Region.
The 2012 IAGM will be held at Bowness-on-Windermere, from 1 to 4 June. The dates are a week later than usual because in 2012 the bank holiday is going to be moved to the June dates to coincide with the Queen's Jubilee. This IAGM will of course be hosted by TARS Northern Region.
The 2013 IAGM will revert to the normal dates, but the venue and the host have yet to be decided.
Great- it looks as if I may get to next year's AGM by square-rigger from the US.
The movie replica of BOUNTY, http://tallshipbounty.org , is probably going to be at Gloucester for a tall ships festival the weekend before the AGM. I'm a regular deckhand on her now.

Probably starting in Florida, up the east coast of the US and Canada, and then across the north Atlantic.
But that's mostly speculation now, with a tiny amount of inside information.
