Kanchenjunga climb - 11 August 2011
Dear all -
once more Northern Region will be climbing Kanchenjunga, to mark the 80th anniversary of the Swallow and Amazons ascent on 11th August 1931 - one of the few precise dates in the books. We're meeting at the Walna Scar car park, about a mile west of Coniston village, in the foothills of Coniston Old Man where there is free car parking, and at about 250 metres above sea level, it just takes the edge off the climb.
As usual, visiting TARS are most welcome to join us. There are already over a dozen booked in of various ages including Juniors. If you're in the Lakes that week, do come along. Contact Rob Boden on humyar@tiscali.co.uk or phone 01539 731136 for more information.
