Out and about in Midland Region
Midland Region had an excellent day out on the Grand Union Canal in September. Many thanks to Roger Hasdell for organising the event and to his friends Tony and Linda for brining their narrow boat along and allowing us to help work her up through the flight of locks.
Our next event will be on Saturday 22 October when we will be taking a trip on the Gloucester Warwickshire Railway, where we will be met by the Chairman of the railway, who is also a Vice President of TARS. For further information see the current edition of Signals.
It proved a delightful sunny day for our ride on the railway in October and all who went enjoyed themselves immensely. Sadly at the beginning of the year the Gloucester Warwickshire Railway had been divided in two by a major landslide, but we were very impressed by the positive way in which they had handled the situation, creating two different railway experiences at either end of the line. We wish them every success with reinstating the line to its former glory and look forward to returning to ride the full length of it.
