We are delighted to have John Killingbeck as our speaker.  He was part of the British Antarctic Survey in the 1960s and has an island named after him!  He will tell us about Scott, the polar expeditions of the 1930s and the last huskies in Antarctica, with plenty of references to Arthur Ransome and his books.

The Devon Hotel has an excellent reputation and is conveniently situated on the outskirts of Exeter, with easy access from the M5 and free car parking.  For more information about the hotel, see the website:  http://www.devonhotel.co.uk.

The cost will be £15 for adults and £5 for juniors

(including coffee, lunch, tea and birthday cake)

Please book by Saturday 17th January 2009

New members will be especially welcome!
