New screen version of Swallows and Amazons
BBC Films announces new version of family favourite in development
It was confirmed today that development is already underway on a film version of Swallows and Amazons, the title book in Arthur Ransome's popular series of children's books. The film is being developed by BBC Films working with Harbour Pictures.
The announcement was made at a press conference unveiling the new structure for BBC films, and underlining its commitment to family-friendly filmmaking.
BBC Films' back catalogue includes such films as Billy Elliot, Conspiracy, Dirty Pretty Things, Hideous Kinky and, more recently, A Cock and Bull Story, The History Boys, Notes on a Scandal and MIss Potter. For more information on BBC Films, click here.
