"Swallows and Amazons" Exhibition Enters its Final Month

The current "Swallows and Amazons" Exhibition at the National Maritime Museum, Cornwall finishes on 11th July.

Those living in or visiting the Falmouth area may like to take the chance to visit the National Maritime Museum, where Ransome's dinghies Coch-y-Bonddhu and Swallow are on display.

Coch-y-Bonddhu, restored and owned by TARS, was used by Ransome as the fictional Scarab in The Picts and the Martyrs.

This particular Swallow is not the dinghy that appeared in Swallows and Amazons, and subsequent books, but rather the dinghy that Ransome had built as a tender to Nancy Blackett, by Harry King and Sons, at Pin Mill.
